Martijn ten Velden has been actively involved in DJ’ing and Music Production since the 1990’s.
In the early 2000’s He makes his way through the DJ ranks in London , with residencies in the legendary ‘The Cross’ and appearances at MOS, The Egg and the End. As one half of the duo ‘Audio Drive’, Martijn releases a string of tracks and remixes on labels like Defected, Ministry of Sound, Virgin, Strictly Rhythm and FFRR. The track ‘I Feel Good’ by Audio Drive becomes the first release on Toolroom Records in 2003. From here on Martijn becomes heavily involved in building up Toolroom Records for the next several years and does a string of big productions and remixes together with Mark Knight. Their 2004 remix of Soul Central ‘Strings of Life’ on Defected Records becomes a big international Club Anthem. Many tracks follow on Renaissance, Strictly Rhythm, Yoshitoshi, Defected, Positiva, MOS, EMI, Stealth, Manifesto, Island, BMG, Z Records, Onephatdeeva, and more. Martijn’s collab with Lucien Foort ‘Bleeep!’, becomes the number 1 best-selling tech-house track of the year on Beatport in 2005. Soon after, Martijn delivers ‘I Wish U Would’. The song becomes a huge Anthem worldwide during the Summer of 2007, entering radio Charts from Australia to Brazil. That same year Martijn wins the Award for ‘Best International DJ’ at the Danish Dance Music Awards. DJ compilations soon follow and Martijn ends up mixing ‘Toolroom Knights Vol. 1’ and ‘Defected Clubland Adventures’ vol. 7.During this ten year period Martijn is touring the world non-stop and ends up playing a long list of top Clubs and festivals in over 40 countries.
